FIL-IDF Canada - Research Excellence & Education Program

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

 

In the context of market globalization and international trade, the Canadian National Committee of the International Dairy Federation (FIL-IDF Canada) has developed an Education Program for young researchers of high caliber to promote, encourage and support their research work and their participation to Canadian and international forum.

The FIL-IDF Canada’s Research Excellence and Education Program is to promote excellence and participation in dairy fields related to technology sciences, nutrition, economics, animal husbandry, environment and nutrition, by offering annually:

  1. Two (2) Research Excellence Awards of $5,000 each to recognize excellence in dairy research and attendance to dairy conferences/meetings where results would be presented.

  2. Travel assistance up to a $1,000.00 for students to travel to other countries in the IAESTE Programme or within Canada, to work in the dairy industry during the summer time.

DAIRY RESEARCH EXCELLENCE AND EDUCATION PROGRAM COMMITTEE:

The FIL-IDF Canada-Dairy Research Excellence Award Committee will be comprised of representatives from the following groups:

  • The President of FIL-IDF Canada (Acting as Chairperson of the Research Excellence & Education Program Committee)
  • one representative from Laval University or Macdonald College.
  • one representative from the University of Guelph.
  • one representative from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Dairy Research Centres (CRDA or Lennoxville Centre).
  • one representative from the University of Alberta - Edmonton Dairy Research Centre.
  • one representative of the Atlantic Veterinary College.
  • one representative of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC).
  • one representative from provincial governments.
  • one representative from Dairy Farmers of Canada.
  • one representative from the Canadian dairy processing industry.

Note: The Committee may seek inputs and advices from others research groups and experts when reviewing submissions.
